Many of us have fallen out of love with God because we’re tired of waiting
We’re tired of waiting on the manifestation of the word. Tired of waiting on the prosperity, healing, spouse, answered prayer.
We’re simply tired and feel forsaken.
Yet the weariness is not coming from the waiting, the weariness is coming from the fact that you took your eyes off of what you’ve been waiting for.
You’re watching everyone else grow and develop. You’re watching everyone else walk down the aisle, get the nice car, step up on the platform. And now your eyes are focused on their harvest instead of the expectation of yours.
In Christian-dom we do too much comparing and it gets us in trouble because it gives way for the enemy to build envy and jealousy in us.
Jesus said there is nothing in me for satan to attach himself to why because He knew His purpose, He knew his why and He never compared himself to anyone. He embraced the waiting time of his bout with the cross by working in his calling through obedience and operating as God had created Him and not what man thought he should be.
So we’ve all come to the place of being in Christ but not trusting him during the waiting season because we have simply taken our eyes off the prize and the promise and put our eyes on our neighbors prosperity. The hand can not do an effective job watching and envying the moves of the foot.
When Moses went up to speak with the Lord the children of Israel got weary on the wait and started worshipping gold.
Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord. -Psalm 27:14
Wait for and confidently expect the Lord;Be strong and let your heart take courage;Yes, wait for and confidently expect the Lord. -Psalm 27:14 (AMP)
But those who wait for the Lord who expect, look for, and hope in Him Will gain new strength and renew their power; They will lift up their wings and rise up close to God like eagles rising toward the sun; They will run and not become weary, They will walk and not grow tired. -Isaiah 40:31 (AMP)
Your waiting is only in vain if you forget what you’re waiting for. If you forget His promise to you because your eyes are wandering in the wait.
But as for me, I will look expectantly for the Lord and with confidence in Him I will keep watch; I will wait with confident expectation for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me. – Micah 7:7 (AMP)
You have to wait well. And that may be easier said than done. But you must stay focused on the promise. Not the distractions. Not the fiery darts. Not the haters and spectators. But the promise.
In the morning You hear my voice, O Lord; in the morning I prepare [a prayer, a sacrifice] for You and watch and wait [for You to speak to my heart]. -Ps 5:3
Be strong and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for and hope for and expect the Lord! Ps 31:24
